Trafficked girl child rescued from Arunachal Pradesh

NORTH LAKHIMPUR, Nov 19 - A minor girl kidnapped and trafficked from Bandardewa area on the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh boundary in Lakhimpur district was traced and rescued by the police on Monday night.

Nisha Das (name changed) (6), sister of Anita Das (name changed) of Bandardewa was kidnapped by one Dipak Dutta of No. 1 Dhemagarh village under Bihpuria Police Station, in Lakhimpur district. A case was registered in Bihpuria Police Station vide Case No. 587/19 under Section 365 of IPC and under the supervision of the Deputy Superintendent of Police (HQ) Runa Neog, the district�s Anti Human Trafficking Unit began the investigation.

After initial investigation which revealed that the girl was taken to some location in Arunachal Pradesh, a team comprising Sub-Inspector Madan Kalita, Havildar Dipen Hatibarua, UB Constable Francis Kangori, APBn Constables Mustafa Ahmed and Sofiuddin Ahmed and Woman Home Guard Mohila Das, was deputed to the neighbouring State to trace out the abducted girl. After a series of continuous search operations at Sesa, Kokila and Balijan the minor girl was traced at Barapani village under Naharlagun Police Station inside Arunachal Praesh. With the help of local police the girl was brought back and was reunited with her family. Investigation is going on to nab the mastermind of the abductor-trafficker.
