Traffic arrangement chalked out for I-Day

GUWAHATI, Aug 12 � In view of the ensuing Independence Day celebration at Latasil Field, the City Police (Traffic) has chalked out a plan for diversion of vehicles and parking arrangements on August 15, an official press release said.

All types of heavy vehicles, including city buses coming from the Bharalumukh side towards Judge�s Field via MG Road, will be diverted at the Cotton Collegiate School point towards HB Road and up to the Commissioner�s point.

The vehicles will have to then take the right turn towards the Oasis Point on the GNB Road. The Chandmari- bound vehicles will turn left at the Don Bosco point via Cotton College Hostel Road, RBI point. The Paltan Bazar-bound vehicles will have to take the right turn and proceed towards the Panbazar overbridge north point via the Oasis point.

All types of light vehicles coming from the Bharalumukh side and proceeding towards Chandmari/Paltan Bazar will have to turn right at the DC Court point.

Chandmari-bound vehicles will take the left turn at the Commissioner�s point and proceed to GNB Road via LNB Road (GMDA parking point), RBI point. Paltan Bazar-bound vehicles will proceed to the Oasis point on GNB Road and turn right towards the Panbazar overbridge north point.

All types of vehicles, including city buses coming from the TC point and bound for Panbazar and the Bharalumukh side, will proceed via GNB Road, Panbazar overbridge, north point, Panbazar Police point and then turn left at the Water Supply point on the MG Road.

Uzan Bazar-bound buses will not be allowed to take the right turn at the Guwahati Club point. City buses and all other heavy vehicles proceeding from Paltan Bazar towards the Bharalumukh side will run through AT Road.

In case of parking arrangements in and around Latasil Field, vehicles with yellow passes will be allowed to park their vehicles on one side of MG Road (north side of Judge�s Field). Vehicles with blue passes will be allowed to park on BC Road (from Planetarium point to Govt Girls� School). Vehicles carrying cultural troupes and other participants coming from Bharalumukh will be allowed to come up to Nehru Park and park on HB Road in front of the Park.

While the participants coming from TC point will have to take right turn at RBI point and will be allowed to park on LNB Road, public coming by vehicles �without vehicle passes� from Chandmari, Ulubari, Uzanbazar, Dispur will be allowed to bring vehicles via LNB Road to HB Road and park vehicles at earmarked parking places.

Public coming by vehicles �without vehicles passes� from Bharalumukh, Panbazar, Paltan Bazar and Jalukbari will be allowed to park their vehicles on HB Road, the release added.
