Traders� body, others contribute towards COVID-19 fight

GUWAHATI, April 21 - Extending their bit in the State�s fight against COVID-19, traders� body Kamrup Chamber of Commerce today contributed Rs 30,00,200 to the Chief Minister�s Relief Fund.

A delegation of the traders� body led by its president MP Jain today met the Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and extended the contributions.

The NRC Employees� Association Assam (NRCEAA) has contributed Rs 2,43,300 to the Assam Arogya Nidhi for the same purpose. Altogether 381 employees had contributed for the noble cause, said a press release.

The Assam Science Society has contributed Rs 1,59,200 to the Assam Arogya Nidhi as contribution towards the State government�s fight against COVID-19.

The society has also called upon citizens of Assam to strictly adhere to social distancing norms and other directives of the government.

Assam Science Society is also planning to undertake a series of programmes to spread awareness about healthcare and cleanliness once the ongoing lockdown is over.
