GUWAHATI, Dec 14 - The transport department today seized the outlet of car dealer Poddar Car World at Khanapara and suspended its trade licence for �gross violation� of trade licence and trade certificate.
District Transport Officer (DTO) Kamrup (M) Gautam Das along with a team from the enforcement branch visited the car dealer after a complaint was received by the department about a customer being cheated by the business entity.
The car owner Mantu Boro had recently filed a complaint at the Dispur Police Station alleging that the dealer had sold him a damaged car (instead of a new one).
According to DTO Das, officials of the dealer had admitted to the fraud. Other loopholes in some documents of the dealer were also detected.
