Town, Sunrise share points

By Sports reporter

GUWAHATI, Aug 12 Sunrise Athletic Club squandered a golden opportunity to earn full points in the RG Baruah Super Division Football League today as aimless shooting at the goal kept them away from a certain victory against Gauhati Town Club.

It was a story of missing scoring opportunities at the Nehru Stadium here, where Sunrise strikers missed atleast five easy sitters from which goals could have been scored with some accuracy and temperament at the final moments.

Sunrises Nigerian striker Emoch Amoafo could be held responsible as he missed atleast three scoring opportunities in the later part of the match.

Town Club, on the other hand, playing without foreign recruits, put up a spirited show and at the fag end of the match they created some openings and came close to scoring.

However, It was the Sunrise team which let their opponent off the hook despite enjoying distinct territorial supremacy.
