Town gain vital points, Green Valley held

GUWAHATI, Aug 28 � Gauhati Town Club gained vital three points with a 2-0 victory against SAI Sports Club while Dynamo Club played 3-3 draw against Green Valley Sports Club in two matches of the RG Baruah GSA Super League Football Tournament at Nehru Stadium here today.

Town Club today played a decent game and scored through Abey Owoles in the 38 minutes and Kishan Singh in the 49th minutes respectively. Town is struggling to avoid relegation as after the first round they could collect only four points from seven outings.

In the other match of the day Sanjeev Marak put Dynamo ahead in the 11th minute but T Bipin Singh made it 1-1 in the 24th minute. Green Valley took lead in the 37th minute when speedy Apurba Phukan found the target.

In the 43rd minute Oneybi Nandos Ogbonna managed to equalise off a counter move.

The second session was also action packed as the first half and Lalfak put Dynamo 3-2 ahead. Apurba, who is in good form restored parity in the 75th minute.

It was one of the most exciting matches of this season in the super league as the ball swung from one end to another quite frequently. The strikers of both the teams showed their class and utilised all the scoring opportunities.
