Topon Gogoi�s movable assets worth Rs 95,49,670

JORHAT, March 25 - The BJP candidate for the Jorhat Lok Sabha constituency, who is now the Minister of State for Power (Independent charge), Topon Kumar Gogoi, has movable assets worth Rs 95,49,670 while his wife Binita Saikia Gogoi has movable assets worth Rs 27,97,791.

In the affidavit submitted along with the nomination papers to the Returning Officer of the Jorhat parliamentary seat, Gogoi has declared that he owns a Toyota Innova vehicle, 20 gms gold, five savings bank accounts, one fixed deposit, 344 number of shares in Federal Bank, five LIC policies, one PPF bank account among the list of movable assets.

Gogoi has declared that he has cash in hand Rs 4,55,000 while his wife has Rs 87000 cash in hand.

He has stated that his wife, who works as a librarian of Sonari Commerce College, owns a Maruti Wagon R, 70 gms gold, four savings bank accounts, two fixed deposits and several life insurance policies.

Gogoi has declared that he possesses immovable assets worth Rs 2,50,000. Among the immovable assets, he owns two plots of agricultural land at Nagahat Kachari Gaon measuring an area of four bighas four kathas and eight lechas.

He has made an investment of Rs 30,000 for tea cultivation in one bigha one katha and 10 lechas plot of land. He has stated that he has taken a loan from SBI amounting Rs 4,55,398.

Gogoi has declared that he is a masters-degree holder in sociology from the Dibrugarh University in 2007 and a LLB from Gauhati University in 2011. He has declared that he has no criminal cases pending against him in any court.
