Toilet blocks dedicated to two border schools

MANGALDAI, April 9 - Giving a boost to Clean India Healthy India (Swachha Bharat Swastha Bharat) drive, SSB 37 Battalion Mangaldoi has dedicated modern toilet blocks with running and drinking water facilities to the schools located in two villages along the Indo-Bhutan international border.

These toilet blocks, one at Chhaya Basti and another at Bholatar, equipped with RO facility for drinking water with separate provisions for boys and girls have been constructed under the civic action programme of SSB for the North East region. This has been informed in a press statement issued here by SSB 37 Battalion on Tuesday.

The SSB has adopted nine schools in the bordering area and doing its bit to improve the infrastructure of the same.

Speaking on the occasion, the Officiating Commandant of SSB 37 Battalion said the people of entire North East region, particularly of Assam, used to live in a clean environment and contributing something in this direction is of immense satisfaction for SSB.

He also expressed hope that with these facilities not only the students of the schools concerned but villagers living in the adjoining areas will also be benefited. Other SSB personnel, students, villagers and prominent citizens of the area were among the participants on this occasion. They all appreciated the work done by the SSB in Udalguri district, the statement added.
