To promote tourism, Khandu goes on 122-km bike ride

ITANAGAR, Oct 14 - Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu, who was on a visit to Yingkiong and took part in the �Gandhi Sankalp Yatra� to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, undertook a 122-km motorcycle ride from the Upper Siang district headquarters to Pasighat in East Siang district, in his bid to promote tourism.

�The objective of the bike ride was to showcase Arunachal as a perfect destination for long distance motorcycle ride and also to promote tourism in the State,� said a communique from the Chief Minister�s Office here on Monday.

The Chief Minister started the bike ride from the Yingkiong circuit house at 8 am on Sunday and reached Pasighat Airport at 10.30 am. The 122-km route offers picturesque views and good road conditions, the communique added.

Posting a video of his motorcycle road trip on his Twitter account on Monday morning, Khandu wrote: �An attempt towards promoting #Arunachal as dream destination for #biking and #adventure sports!� In another tweet, he wrote, �The route offers best picturesque views of the #Siang Valley and #Adi villages�.
