MORIGAON, Nov 2 - Four Tiwa organisations namely � All Tiwa Students� Union (ATSU), All Tiwa Women Association, Tiwa Yuva Chatra Parishad and Tiwa Surakhya Samiti have vehemently opposed the proposed amendment of Indian Citizenship Act seeking citizenship to Hindu Bangladeshis.
The four organisations protesting the proposed move of the Centre staged a sit-in strike programme in front of Morigaon DC�s court recently. The organisations said that the existence of the tribal people will be threatened if Hindu Bangladeshis are given ctizenship rights and settled in Assam.
