Tinsukia police gesture to meritorious students

TINSUKIA, June 1 - Tinsukia Superintendent of Police, Mugdha Jyoti Mahanta has announced a financial assistance of Rs 1,10,500 from Tinsukia police to Anima Moran of Amguri village, who has passed the Class XII examination in Arts stream this year securing 87.04 per cent marks from Philobari Junior College. The aid has been provided for pursuing her higher studies.

Anima, whose father died in 2009, belongs to a very poor family and her mother works for their livelihood. Tinsukia police also announced the same amount of financial assistance to Tulumoni Saikia of Borgaon, Philobari, who secured 82 per cent in the Science stream and belongs to a very poor family.

It may also be mentioned that Deepika Hazarika, who secured the fifth position in Arts stream from Saltbrook Academy Dibrugarh, is the daughter of woman police constable Moni Lata Hazarika of Second Assam Police Battalion, presently posted at Tinsukia on deputation. Dipika�s father died a few years ago who also worked in the Police department.
