Tinsukia lawyers condemn conspiracy against CJI

By CORRESPONDENT

TINSUKIA, April 26 - An emergent meeting of the executive body of the Tinsukia Bar Association has condemned the allegation brought against the Chief Justice of India (CJI), Justice Ranjan Gogoi as published in some section of print and electronic media.

Terming the allegation brought against the CJI as baseless, rubbish, wild and highly motivated in the meeting held recently at its own premises, the Association considered that the allegation of sexual harassment against the CJI had been brought only to tarnish the reputation of an honest and impartial judge and to bring the entire judiciary into disrepute. It further said that the allegations were apparently unbelievable and had been designed to malign the reputation of Indian Judiciary and therefore it further resolved to express solidarity and stand firmly by the institution at the critical juncture in the interest of protecting the dignity of the office of the Chief Justice of India and upholding the independence of Indias Judiciary.
