DOOMDOOMA, April 30 - With an objective to form the Tinsukia District Committee of All Assam Goriya Moriya Deshi Jatiya Parishad (AAGMDJP), a representative meeting was held at Hanhsara here recently with the participation of representatives from various places across the district.
The meeting was chaired by Nekib Haque Saikia. In the meeting, the Tinsukia district committee of AAGMDJP was formed with Safiqul Ahmed of Sadiya as president, Mukib Ali of Makum as working president, Mun Ali of Doomdooma as secretary and Aminul Haque of Sadiya as treasurer respectively.
Later, a public meeting was also held at the same venue which was chaired by Aminul Haque. Addressing the meeting, AAGMDJP general secretary Ajijul Rahman lamented non-execution of the state government�s decision to form a Development Council for the Goriya-Moriya people of the state.
He urged the government to execute the decision immediately. He also urged the government to ensure that the name of each and every person of this community was included in the NRC.
The meeting was also addressed by AAGMDJP Nalbari district committee president Riyajul Haque, Rangiya district committee secretary Samsul Haque, senior journalist and social activist Arjun Baruah, Doomdooma Mahila Samiti president Boby Borah, Beer Lachit Sena�s Doomdooma unit president Rajib Baruah, secretary Bidyut Bikash Bora and several others.
