Tinsukia dist Covid tally climbs to 798

DOOMDOOMA, July 25 - Tinsukia district recorded 129 fresh COVID-19 positive cases during the last 36 hours, taking the tally of confirmed cases to 798.

The active cases in the district stand at 325 as 473 patients have been discharged from hospitals, stated the District Covid Bulletin issued by the DIPRO, Tinsukia on Friday night.

Majority of fresh cases are community-level cases without any travel history. The fresh cases include ten from the Tinsukia SP office, one from the Personal Product Factory of Hindustan Unilever Ltd situated at Doomdooma and one from the Doomdooma BSNL office situated at Rupai Siding. Though most of the fresh cases are from Tinsukia town, 14 cases have also been detected in Dangari area and Talap Tea Estate of Doomdooma Circle. Meanwhile, Jhantu Dey (46), Covid-19 patient from Tinsukia town died on Friday while on his way to AMCH, Dibrugarh. But, his death is yet to be confirmed by the State Death Audit Board.
