DOOMDOOMA, Oct 12 - The Deputy Commissioner of Tinsukia district recently instructed the BDO of Kakopothar Development Block to personally review the implementation of the five different schemes under Area Development Schemes of Doomdooma MLA.

According to sources, the MLA, Dilip Moran, told the DC himself about non-implementation of the schemes in the area. The Doomdooma MLA reportedly sanctioned Rs 4 lakh from his Area Development Fund to five different schemes under his constituency in 2012-2013 and 2013-2014.

As per the allotments, the MLA gave Rs 50,000 for a community hall at number-1 Rumaigabharu Gaon Kharia Basti, Rs 50,000 for KKK at Kumsong TE number-2 Staff Line, Rs 50,000 for a cultural centre at Tingamira TE near Tingamira Church, Rs 50,000 for a community hall at Kakopothar Forest Gate near Navoday Vidyalaya and Rs 2 lakh for construction of a room at the All Assam Chutia Students Union office.

For smooth implementation of these schemes, five different committees were formed by the DC under one Sushil Saikia as per the MLAs recommendation. The entire amount for the first four schemes was released and Rs 1.5 lakh was for the fifth scheme, which was released by the Planning Department of the DC office. But, the first four schemes have not been implemented and the fifth one is half done.

When these anomalies were highlighted by some vernacular dailies, the MLA reported the matter to the Tinsukia DC. Accordingly, the DC ordered Sushil Saikia, the president of the construction committees of these the five schemes, to complete all these schemes and submit a detailed report within a week.
