BISWANATH CHARIALI, May 31 - Acting on a tip-off, a woman named Sumita Kalita was arrested by police at Dhopabar village under Ghahigaon police outpost in Gohpur subdivision in Biswanath district with the help of VDP personnel on Friday night. She was been identified as Anamika Lahon, daughter of Bipul Lahon, a resident of Bedeti under Behali Police Station. Police claimed that she was a veteran criminal involved in theft. She had reportedly escaped from the house of one Navjyoti Payeng with gold jewellery of about four lakh rupees a few months back and kept changing her name. She came to the fore when she had made videos on �Tik-tok� wearing the stolen ornaments. It is learnt that an NGO had entrusted the woman to work in Navjyoti Paeng�s house in the month of February.
