GUWAHATI, Sept 29 - A public meet was held at Tihu Raskhola on Monday in support of the declaration of Tihu subdivision, called by the Tihu Subdivision Demand Committee and the Tihu Anchalik Students� Union. This was stated in a press release.
The public meeting was attended by Dr Moloya Barman, president of the demand committee, Pabindra Deka, former minister, Paniram Rabha, ex-mla of Barama LAC, Dr Surajit Barman, working president of the demand committee.
Nearly 5000 people including students attended the meeting. All the speakers explained the genuineness of the Tihu subdivision, which has been in the public domain for the last 40 years. At the end, a memorandum was submitted to the Chief Minister through the Tihu Circle Officer on the demand.
