Tihu body moves Bhumidhar over local grievances

TIHU, Aug 28 � An eight-member delegation of the Tihu Anchalik Unnayan Samiti submitted a memorandum at Dispur to Dr Bhumidhar Barman, acting CM, about several grievances of the greater Tihu area and urged him to redress those with utmost priority.

Earlier, the delegation conveyed its best wishes and congratulated Dr Barman for holding the charge of the Chief Minister. The delegation urged Dr Barman to take special steps for renovating the existing PWD bungalow situated in the heart of Tihu town without any boundary wall. Besides, for smooth functioning of the PWD works, both building and roads, the PWD sectional office (Roads), Tihu needs to be upgraded to a sub-divisional office on its existing premises, woes of teachers should be relieved by shifting to Tihu, the proposed Block Elementary Education office of Tihu block which is now functioning from Barama under BTAD.

Moreover, the permanent building of Tihu judicial court should be constructed soon by allotting 2 bighas of land from the 7 bighas already occupied by the Tihu revenue circle office in its campus. The delegation appealed to Dr Barman to direct the department concerned to repair and widen the Tihu town feeder road, the only connecting road between Tihu town and NH 31 and expedite the construction of the agricultural SDO office at Tihu for which the necessary plot of land has already been allotted. After giving a patient hearing, Dr Barman, assured the delegation of fulfilling their grievances.
