Thundersquall likely to hit NE: Met

GUWAHATI, April 28 � The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) here has warned of the possibility of a thundersquall � with wind speed exceeding 60 km per hour � hitting the one or two places over the NE region during the next 48 hours since noon today.

It has also predicted possibility of rain or thundershower over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya during the next 24 hours. There is also the possibility of rain or thundershower at one or two places over Nagaland, Manipur and Mizoram during the period, said sources in the RMC.

In the city and its adjacent areas, the sky is likely to remain partly cloudy during the next 24 hours and during the period, there is a possibility of rain or thundershower occurring in some areas. The maximum temperature in the city is expected to be around 340 Celsius on Thursday, said the sources.
