Three students bring laurels to Bajali

PATACHARKUCHI, June 2 - People of Pathsala town of Bajali subdivision celebrated the day by bursting crackers and carrying out processions as three students, two from Arts stream and one from Science stream from three institutions, shone in the HSSLC examination by achieving ranks, the results of which was declared today.

Suranjan Dev Sarma, son of late Pabin Sarma and Hiramani Devi of Sripur Chakla Patacharkuchi and a student of Bajali College secured the 10th position in the HSSLC Science stream. He secured 474 Marks (Eng-89, Alt Eng-92, Phy-96, Chem-100, Math-97, Bio-93). When asked as to how he prepared to face the final examination, he replied that he studied continuously from the beginning of the course for about eight to nine hours daily on an average giving equal importance to all subjects. He received full support from the teachers of the college. Dr Manoj Kumar Mahanta of the college expressed his happiness over the performance of the students. Out of the 236 Science stream students, 24 secured star marks, 81 first division, 63 second division and three have been placed in the third division. In the Arts stream, out of 144 students, two got star marks, 17 first division, 36 second division and 52 placed in the third division.

Ilakshi Nazir, daughter of Dilip Kumar Nazir and Mina Nazir of Howly and a student of Krishna Kanta Handiqui Junior Degree College, Pathsala, secured the 6th position in the Arts stream. She got 474 marks (Eng-90, MASS-91, POSC-97, Econ-98, LOPH-98 and Anth-91). She is planning to get admission into Cotton College opting Economics as the major subject. She has dreams of becoming a good administrative officer. Out of the 122 students who appeared in the Arts stream from the institution, 47 secured star marks, 82 first division, 22 second division and 11 were placed in the third division while in the Science stream, out of 103 students, 20 secured star marks, 63 first division, 30 second division and one was placed in the third division.

Nirupama Roy, daughter of Jogeswar Roy and Dipali Roy of Raipur Na Para, secured the 10th position in the Arts stream from Bajali HS School. She got 468 marks (Eng-91, MAAS-96, POSC-89, LOPH-98, ADAS-94 and Econ-87). She comes from a poor family background and in the future she wants to be a good teacher.
