Three State health facilities receive awards

GUWAHATI, Oct 15 - The Central government in a function held recently at New Delhi, conferred the National Kayakalp Award and certificates on three Health Facilities of Assam for �cleanliness� and �hygiene promotion� under Quality Care.

The facilities which got the award were SM Dev Civil Hospital of Cachar, Sonapur District Hospital of Kamrup Metro and Jonai Community Health Centre of Dhemaji.

This time a total of 166 health facilities of the country received the �Kayakalp� Award.

SM Dev Civil Hospital, Cachar received the first prize in the category of district hospital in Assam with 87 per cent score in health facility in the Kayakalp assessment. Similarly, Sonapur District Hospital, Kamrup Metro ranked second in the State with a score of 85 per cent. Under the category of Community Health Centres, Jonai CHC, Dhemaji has won the first prize in the State by scoring 86 per cent.

The State was represented by Dr Ashutosh Barman, Superintendent of SM Dev Civil Hospital, Dr Ulupi Phukan Baruah, Superintendent of Sonapur District Hospital, Dr Gunada Lagachu, Deputy Superintendent of Jonai CHC, Dr Rohini Kumar, State Consultant of Quality Assurance and Kakali Deka, State Programme Executive of Quality Assurance.
