DIBRUGARH, June 27 - At least three persons suspected to be mentally-challenged, were rescued from different locations of the city by police today.

The suspected mentally-challenged persons included two men and a woman. All of them were wandering on the streets of the city since past several months with hardly any decent clothes on their bodies.

The Dibrugarh police rescued the three persons with the help of Muslim Yuba Parishad (Pragatisheel) volunteers and their ambulance. The woman was picked up from Shantipara while one man was picked up from AT Road and the other from Mancotta Road, police said.

All the three were produced before a magistrate and were later shifted to Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH) for treatment.

Police had carried out a similar exercise earlier also and had rescued three women from the city streets.
