Three new cases in Mizoram

AIZAWL, Aug 11 - Three new cases of COVID-19 today pushed Mizoram�s tally to 623.

The new cases were detected after rapid antigen tests during the last 24 hours. Two cases are from Kolasib district and one from Aizawl district, an official release stated.

The infected persons include a truck driver, a police personnel on duty at the Vairengte checkgate on the Assam-Mizoram border and an Aizawl resident who had returned from Assam. The first two had not been in quarantine.

�Hectic contact tracing has been conducted at Vairengte. All the contacts of the positive case have tested negative so far,� the release added.

Of the total 623 cases in Mizoram, 300 are active and two have migrated. No death has been reported so far.
