Three more quarantined

SIVASAGAR, April 12 - Three more people who arrived in Sivasagar from Guwahati Athgaon Kabarstan Masjid yesterday were sent for quarantine at the ITI located at Demow Baruah Changmai Gaon.

Those quarantined were Syed Mujaffar Newaj (38) of Konwarpur, Sahenshah Ullah of Cherekapar and Iftikkar Ali of Ligiripukhuri, Nazira.

They were first produced in Sivasagar Civil Hospital where their blood samples were collected and then subsequently taken to the Demow facility by police.

With them, the total number of people suspected with coronavirus contamination rose to 138 in the district till today, while the number of people in home quarantine was 2,583 and the number of people quarantined in isolation wards was 22.

The total number of isolation and mass quarantine centre beds is 8,312 in the district. No one has so far tested positive in the district. A Health Department release said that a total of 3,757 meetings were organised by the Asha workers in the district so far in order to sensitise the general people about the pandemic.
