Agartala, Nov 21 (IANS): After a lull of several months, separatists kidnapped two boys and a man, all tribals, at gunpoint in Tripura, police said on Wednesday.
"Three tribals were kidnapped from their houses on Tuesday night by the NLFT (National Liberation Front of Tripura) in northern Tripura," 195 km north of here, a police spokesman told reporters.
Police suspect that the guerrillas might have taken Chittaranjan Tripura (15), Kerendra Tripura (16) and Sabkanti Tripura (37) to Bangladesh.
Tripura Police have asked the Border Security Force (BSF) to talk to their counterparts in Bangladesh to rescue the captives.
The outlawed NLFT and the All Tripura Tigers Force are known to have bases in Bangladesh, and get support from other separatist outfits of the Northeast.
Tripura shares an 856-km border with Bangladesh, some of it unfenced and running through dense forests, making it porous and vulnerable.
