Three ATM thieves arrested

BONGAIGAON, Aug 18 - Police personnel of Dhaligaon PS in Chirang district nabbed three ATM thieves from a hotel in Bongaigaon last night.

These three thieves had exchanged the ATM card of Alendra Basumatary, head teacher of Kajalgaon High School in Chirang district, when he went to withdraw money from the ATM booth at Kajalgaon, the district head quarters, yesterday evening. Later Basumatary received a message of his latest bank account status on his mobile phone. Sensing something wrong, Basumatary informed the police about these youths, whom he had met at the ATM booth.

Accordingly, police moved into action and traced their location at Barpara in Bongaigaon and from a hotel the trio were arrested along with tools that they used to open ATMs, pass cards of Rajasthan Secretariat, 25 ATM cards, some other documents and a Tata safari vehicle bearing registration number UP-78 CA-6477. The arrested youths have been identified as Shivang Dwivedi, Nizakat Khan and Anupam Misra. All are the residents of Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh.

As per police sources, Shivang Dwivedi�s father is a district magistrate in Kanpur and mother is an employee in the Rajasthan High Court. They are being interrogated in Dhaligaon Police Station.
