SIVASAGAR, Feb 21 � Over 80,000 devotees thronged the Shiva Doul with offerings in Sivasagar on Tuesday.
Carrying puja items in their hands, the devotees were seen waiting in serpentine queues for their turn to pay their offerings to the lord.
Volunteers and cadets of NCC and Scout along with police had had a hard time to regulate the devotees, as the number was increasing with the passage of time. Security arrangement around the temple was tight with more than 100 police personnel and 300 volunteers and cadets deployed there. � A Correspondent
Maha Shivaratri at Tezpur
Tezpur, Feb 21 � With the rest of the country, Maha Shivaratri was celebrated here in the historic Mahabhairab Temple along with the Holeswar Temple, Ketekaswar Temple, Hinguleswar and other temples located at the outskirt of the town with a two-day programme.
