SIVASAGAR, Feb 21 - Thousands of devotees from different parts of the country today thronged the three-century old Sivadoul here to pay homage to Lord Shiva.
There was a beeline of devotees from the morning to enter the sanctum sanatorium to pour milk.
Thousands of visitors were seen thronging the stalls set up by the temple development committee.

The historic temple witnessed a large gathering since the early morning where devotees were coming to offer their pujas to Lord Siva.
The road about 1 kilometre from NH-37 at Negheriting Chariali to the temple was filled up with devotees till the filling of this report.
The civil and police administration were controlling the law-and-order situation in the temple surroundings.
The temple built way back in 1727 during the tenure of Ahom king Rajeswar Singha is one of the important temples dedicated to Lord Siva in upper Assam.
Since the inception of the temple, Sivaratri mela has been held in the temple.
