There will be straight fight between BJP, BPF: Himanta

By STAFF REPORTER

GUWAHATI, Nov 19 - Senior BJP leader Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday said there will be a straight fight between the saffron party and in its former ally BPF in as many as 27 constituencies in the ensuing BTC elections. In the remaining 13 constituencies, the fight will be between BPF and UPPL, Sarma told media persons, adding, BJP will contest on its own in the BTC elections.

Further, taking a dig at the Congress party, the North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA) chief alleged that the Congress is playing a dangerous game right from Kashmir to Assam. In Assam, Congress is supporting the communal agenda of the AIUDF chief Badaruddin be it about Miyan flag, Miyan culture or Pakistan Zindabad slogans, Sarma told media persons today.

The Pradesh Congress is openly endorsing the statements of AIUDF and Congress leaders whose tone and tenor is completely communal, he added.

Equally, in the context of Kashmir, the Congress is playing into the hands of the separatists by allying with Gupkar gang.
