AIZAWL, Sept 20 - Congress MLA KS Thanga, who had resigned as Parliamentary Secretary recently, was today sworn in as a new Minister in the Lal Thanhawla Ministry.
Mizoram Governor Lt Gen Nirbhay Sharma (Retd) administered the oath of office and secrecy to Thanga in the swearing in ceremony held at Raj Bhavan here. Thanga has been given the rank of a Minister of State.
The swearing in of Thanga came when two posts of Minister are lying vacant.
Sources in the Congress party said, another MLA Lalawmpuii Chawngthu, the lone woman legislator in the Mizoram Assembly, was supposed to be inducted into the Ministry, but could not be done as she was in Delhi.
With this induction, the strength of the Lal Thanhawla Ministry has gone up to 11.
