Tezpur win 3-2 against Silchar in CM�s Cup

GUWAHATI, March 16 - Tezpur rallied to beat Silchar 3-2 in their first leg semifinal match of the CM�s Cup Football Tournament (U-19 boys) at the Nehru Stadium, here today. The Tezpur boys showed great determination and rode on Suresh Sahu�s brace to go into the second leg with a one goal lead.

Silchar�s Junjun Buragohain put his team ahead scoring in the additional minutes of the first half.

After the break, it was Tezpur�s turn to dominate throughout. With frequent inroads Tezpur drew parity through Suresh Sahu in the 54th minute. To make things worse for the Silchar side, Jotish Basumatary�s cross from the right flank was well utilised by Gobin Thakur in the 64th minute. Suresh Sahu went on to score again in the 83rd minute after receiving a pass from Gobin Thakur.

Tezpur�s Manoranjan Goyary was given the marching orders after a hand ball inside the danger zone in the injury time which resulted in a penalty being awarded to Silchar. Captain Sabil Hussain made no mistake in finding the target. Today�s match (2nd leg S/F): Tinsukia vs Gossaigaon.
