GUWAHATI, May 14 � In the lone match of the day of the Umananda Bora U-16 Inter District Cricket Tournament at the Nehru Stadium here, Tezpur recorded a facile 43-run victory against Mangaldai. In the low scoring second round match of the championship, Tezpur opted to bat first and scored 88 losing all the wickets in 19.2 overs. Akash Deep Kashyap (22) and Md Rihan (11) were the only batsmen to reach double figures for Tezpur as Mr Extra (45) was the highest-scorer. Rishan Dewan (4/10) was the top wicket-taker for Mangaldai.
But the Mangaldai batsmen failed to counter the Tezpur bowling and were all out for 45 in 19.1 overs. No Mangaldai batsman except Koutav Limbu (10) could reach double figure. Kalyan Newar took four wickets for Tezpur. In the first match, Bajali got walkover as their opponent Kaliabor did not turn up.
