GUWAHATI, May 15 � Tezpur marched into the quarterfinal stage of the Umananda Bora U-13 Inter District Cricket Tournament. In a pre-quarterfinal match of the championship at the Nehru Stadium here today, Tezpur prevailed over Lakhimpur by 47 runs.
Riding on a quickfire 10-ball 27 by Akash Deep Kashyap, Tezpur scored 95 all out in 23.1 overs in the 25-over match. Opener Abhilesh Dey (18) was the other batsman to reach double figures. Mayukh Hazarika and Ankur Sarma chipped in with three wickets each for Lakhimpur. The Lakhimpur batsmen failed while chasing the target and lost wickets at regular intervals. Finally, they were all out for 48 in 19 overs.
