SILCHAR, Dec 16 - Along with the rest of the state, Tetanus vaccination campaign was formally launched in Cachar district at the SM Dev Civil Hospital recently.
District Development Commissioner, Jessica Lalsim inaugurated the campaign in the presence of Joint Director of Health Services Dr Sudip Jyoti Das, Additional CM and HO, Dr PK Roy, District Immunization Officer, Dr Rajat Deb and senior officials of the Health department.
Dr PK Roy, in his speech, informed that the campaign will last for three weeks . He said extra efforts will be given to cover the children residing even in far-flung areas also.
District Development Commissioner, Lalsim expressed happiness over the efforts made by the health workers during the COVID period. She hoped that similar kind of effort will be made by the health workers to make the ongoing vaccination campaign successful.
According to sources in the district Health department, 10 beneficiaries were vaccinated on the first day of the campaign and a 10-year-old girl Gitosree Shil was vaccinated.Joint Director of Health Services, Dr. Sudip Jyoti Das urged the parents of 10 years and 16 years old children to come forward and get their child vaccinated.
