BARPETA, Jan 16 The primary school teachers appointed following the successful completion of Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) in Barpeta district, have requested the Government to address their grievances in an effective manner. In a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner of Barpeta recently, the teachers intimated that they have been appointed purely on the basis of merit following their success in TET in 2010. They stated that they have been facing some problems in performing their duties and urged the Deputy Commissioner to solve them.

The memorandum stated that the Sarba Siksha Abhiyan has paid them a lump sum of Rs 10,000 for the month of December 2014 last in stead of the full remuneration. It has ashamed the job of the teachers.

It also indicated that instead of Rs 5830 as per ROP of 2010 they have been paid only Rs 5200 as basic salary. Moreover, the enhanced dearness allowance of 7% declared in July has not paid to them for three months.
