GUWAHATI, May 6 � The final list of TET-qualified candidates will be declared on May 16 and their appointment letters would be presented on May 20 or a day or two after at a function scheduled at Sarusajai stadium here.
Announcing this before media persons here on Sunday, Education and Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the qualified candidates would also undergo a five-day orientation session before joining their posts.
Today, the government declared the final list for six districts and a total of 2405 candidates have qualified to serve as teachers in rural and interior areas of the State. In Kokrajhar district, the total number of qualified candidates is 632, in Karbi Anglong it is 431, in North Cachar it is 57, in Chirang it is 368, in Baksa it is 401 and in Udalguri it is 516.
�All selected candidates will have to intimate us about the district they have chosen by May 10. Even those who have already informed us about their option will have to do it again,� said Sarma adding that this process can be fulfilled either online or by approaching the help desks in the Sarba Siksha offices in all districts.
Sarma also revealed that union Minister of Human Resource Development Kapil Sibal has assured that the centre would give the nod for additional 27,405 teachers posts in the State.
�We have embarked on this mission to implement the RTE in its true spirit and expect the newly appointed teachers would give their best,� said Sarma.
