HAILAKANDI, Nov 10 - AIUDF supremo Badaruddin Ajmal challenged Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma to take the responsibility of the failure of the BJP government in the State and tender his resignation.
Addressing a public meeting at Aenakhal in Hailakandi district on Monday, Ajmal alleged that Sarma has started communal politics by keeping aside the problems of the people.
The AIUDF supremo challenged Sarma to donate at least 150 bighas of land in any place of the State so that he (Ajmal) can construct a hospital in the name of Sarmas father. The common people of the State would be greatly benefited by the hospital and not by communal politics, Ajmal added.
However, his statement on donating Rs 10 crore by each of the AIUDF aspirants for the coming Assembly elections for the construction of a hospital in Hailakandi district has created a huge controversy.
Ajmal warned the party ticket aspirants to show restrain because only one person will get a ticket in one constituency. He said the educated and knowledgeable candidates will be considered for the party ticket for the coming Assembly elections. He clearly said he doesnt sell tickets and urged the party MLAs in Hailakandi to know more about the problems of the people of the constituency.
The AIUDF leader said after late Moinul Haque, no minister and leader worked for the development of Barak Valley.
He stressed the need for womens education and also spoke on various other issues like the revival of defunct Cachar Paper Mill, Mizo aggression along the Lailapur border in Cachar district, etc.
The meeting was also addressed by party general secretary Aminul Islam, Bilashipara MLA Basir Ahmed Kashimi, Algapur MLA Nijam Uddin Choudhury, former MP Radheshyam Biswas among others.
