GUWAHATI, June 12 � On account of the forthcoming Ambubachi Mela and for convenience of devotees and pilgrims, the Traffic Police has temporarily restricted the parking of vehicles at some roads in the city from June 21 to June 27.
Parking of vehicles has been restricted at DG Road from Maligaon Chariali to Bharalumukh point, at PNGB Road from Maligaon Chariali point to Railway Station, and at Maligaon-Pandu Road from Maligaon Chariali to Pandu, said an official notification.
In addition, during the period the movement of inter-district and long-distance buses, including buses operating under the ASTC, have been restricted on the DG Road, MG Road and TR Phukan Road.
Besides, all goods carrying heavy and medium commercial vehicles, except the vehicles allowed by the authorities, from Maligaon to Bharalumukh on DG Road have also been restricted for safety of the general public and the devotees on the roads.
