Temperatures go down further in city

GUWAHATI, Dec 23 � A cold weather condition is prevailing for the past three days in West Assam, South Assam and Tripura.

In the city, the day (maximum) and night (minimum) temperatures have dipped further today. The city recorded today a maximum temperature of 17.4 degree Celsius and a minimum temperature of 9.8 degree Celsius against the normals of 24 degree Celsius and 11 degree Celsius respectively.

H Pathak, the Deputy Director General of Meteorology (DDGM) of the Regional Meteorology Centre (RMC) here, said that since December 20 maximum temperature is plummeting in the city from 25 degree Celsius to 17.4 degree Celsius. The minimum temperature of the city is fluctuating between 9.7 degree Celsius and 10 degree Celsius, he said.

The city recorded a maximum temperature of 24 degree Celsius and a minimum temperature of 11.8 degree Celsius on December 18. It recorded a maximum temperature of 25 degree Celsius and a minimum temperature of 10.4 degree Celsius on December 19.

On December 20, it recorded a maximum temperature of 25 degree Celsius and a minimum temperature of 9.8 degree Celsius. On December 21, it recorded a maximum temperature of 22.2 degree Celsius and a minimum temperature of 9.7 degree Celsius. On December 22, it recorded a maximum temperature of 19.2 degree Celsius and a minimum temperature of 10 degree Celsius, Pathak said.
