MANGALDAI, Aug 27 - Sensation prevails at Dalgaon area of Darrang district following the murder of a teenage girl on a street in broad daylight today.
Unidentified miscreants brutally stabbed a class X student of Dalgaon Higher Secondary School, identified as one Manimala Bhoumick (15) with sharp weapons, when she was on her way back from school. Her body was recovered from a road. She was rushed to Mangaldai Civil Hospital in a critical condition where she was declared brought dead.
The victim girl along with the other students of the school had celebrated freshmen social earlier in the day. The reason behind the murder is yet to be ascertained as a section of classmates have ruled out any love affair. Police has started investigation though till the filing of this report, no arrest could be made.
