TURA, Sept 28 - The All Meghalaya SSA School Teachers� Association has urged the State Project Director to clear their pending salaries and arrears before the Durga Puja. Members of the association met the Project Director in Shillong on Friday to discuss the issue. The teachers have not received their salaries since July and their arrears have been pending for the last six months.
According to the teachers� body, the State Project Director assured that despite paucity of funds, he would make all efforts to pay the outstanding dues of the teachers.
The teachers, however, insisted on release of their salaries before the Durga Puja.
