Meanwhile, Governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi has greeted the teaching fraternity of the State on the occasion of Teachers Day.

In a message today, Prof Mukhi said, As a mark of respect to the immense contributions of our teachers, we celebrate Teachers Day. Since Teachers Day is celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of former President of India Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, we should all pay our reverence to this great soul and work to emulate his ideals for building the country of his dreams.

He further said, Teachers are pillars on which the entire society revolves. So the quality of a society to a great extent depends on our teachers. On the occasion of Teachers Day, besides paying my deep sense of gratitude to the selfless service of the teachers, I appeal to the teaching fraternity to take the responsibility of building our society perched on high moral groundings and a strong feeling of mutual and harmonious coexistence.
