Teachers� body call to boycott summer camp

BISWANATH CHARIALI, June 28 - The joint forum of the secondary teachers of the State, �Madhyamik Sikshakar Joutha Mancha� has decided to boycott the ten-day long summer camp to be started in the schools from July 1 by Sarva Siksha Abhiyan (SSA) in protest against the State government�s alleged failure to execute the minutes to increase the earned leave (EL) of the secondary teachers from 10 days to 30 days a year.

In a press release, signed by Chandra Gogoi, secretary of Asam High School Sikshak Sanstha, Dr Dayananda Bhuya, secretary of Sadou Asam Sarkari School Seva Santha and Gobinda Chandra Kalita, general secretary of Asam Madhyamik Sikshak aru Karmachari Santha, it was stated that the matter had been thoroughly discussed with the State Education Minister on August 28, 2018 and subsequently the minutes were signed. But the minutes have not been executed till today, they alleged. The forum expressed its dissatisfaction over the matter and called upon all the secondary teachers not to participate in any kind of government programmes during the summer camp.
