DHUBRI, Dec 1 - Five male teachers of 2365 Shishu Kalyan Lower Primary School situated in the heart of Dhubri town, come to their school daily since March this year in black trousers and white shirts while the female teachers come in sador mekhelas of a certain colour and pattern. This is believed to have improved the teaching environment of the government LP school and is attracting the students from far-flung areas. Interestingly, many other schools of the district are also coming forward to follow their path.
Adoption of school uniform by the teachers has ushered in professionalism in them. This step has brought about unity among the teachers along with a good community spirit, and this is benefiting the student community at large, said Raja Mahato, the head teacher of the school. He also added that after the change many parents from private schools are also willing to send their children to this dual medium (Assamese and Bengali) government school. The head teacher also said, Looking at the discipline and teaching environment of the school, parents from far-flung areas like Banga, Dhubichar, Folimari are also sending their children to this school.
Meanwhile, these 11 teachers are setting a trend for other schools of the district too. After these teachers voluntarily adopted uniforms, 2367 Police Reserve LP School, 678 Dhubri LP school has already adopted this trend of uniform for the teachers and many schools are contacting us and showing their willingness to adopt it, informed Aktaruz Zaman, Cluster Resource Centre Coordinator (CRCC) of SSA Dhubri. Zaman, under whose jurisdiction most of the schools in Dhubri falls, also said, The improvement we have seen among the students of these schools is very impressive and the dedication of the teachers towards their students is also very high.
