Teacher trampled

TURA, April 2 - A Hindi teacher named Taher Ali Sheikh, who was returning from Tikrikilla in West Garo Hills was trampled to death by a herd of wild elephants after the tempo he was travelling in came in their way. The incident happened on Friday evening near the village of Gaptuli under Nidanpur outpost.

The deceased used to work at the Kukurmara HS School and was a resident of Fekamari near Hatsingimari in South Salmara district of Assam.
