Tea garden workers stage sit-in strike in Tinsukia district

Doomdooma, January 30: The employees as well as the retired employees of the tea gardens of James Warren Tea Ltd. (JWTL) situated in Upper Assam's Tinsukia district under the aegis of Assam Chah Karmachari Sangha (ACKS) staged a three-hour sit-in strike in front of the Registered Office of the JWTL situated at Dhoedaam Tea Estate here on Wednesday
They carried out the sit-in strike for non-fulfilment of their demands like releasing pension to the retired employees, filling up the vacant posts and promotions, providing referral, group hospital or alternate healthcare facility, regularisation of the post of teachers working as daily rated workers and not to curtail other facilities enjoyed by the employees.
