Tea executive passes away

DOOMDOOMA, May 7 - Romanus Dasgupta, general manager of tea major Mcleod Russel India Limited, passed away on Thursday afternoon following a cardiac arrest. He was 57 and leaves behind his wife and a daughter, besides a host of relatives.

According to reports, he felt uneasy when he was returning to his bungalow at Bordubi Tea Estate after visiting Beesakopie Tea Estate here. His wife immediately brought him to the company�s central hospital at Beesakopie where the doctors declared him brought dead.

Dasgupta hailed from Kolkata and was in charge of six divisions of the tea company in Doomdooma circle. His last rites took place at Tinsukia on Friday.

The Doomdooma branch Asom Chah Mazdoor Sangha and several other tea organisations have condoled the sudden demise of the tea executive.
