Tea Estate doctors threaten to quit en masse

DOOMDOOMA, Sept 3 - Doctors serving in tea gardens have threatened to tender mass resignation if the Assam Branch Indian Tea Association (ABITA) does not show any positive response to their demands.

In a letter addressed to Abhijit Sharma, the secretary of ABITA, the IMA, Assam State Branch has set September 5 as the deadline to fulfil its demand pertaining to deployment of professional security guards and installation of CCTV cameras in the garden hospitals, otherwise it will be compelled to give a call of withdrawal of doctors from the tea gardens across the State from September 6.

On the other hand, the IMA (HQ), New Delhi has sought immediate intervention of the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister of Assam requesting them for proper investigation of the incident.
