NEW DELHI, Sept 10 � The Centre is firming plans to reconstitute all boards, including the Tea Board under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
Disclosing this, Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Nirmala Sitharaman said that plans are being worked out to reconstitute all boards under the Ministry.
The Minister further said that an insurance-based scheme is being evolved for stabilisation of prices of four plantation crops, including tea, coffee, rubber and spices.
A national policy for rubber sector is also being formulated, she added during an interaction with mediapersons.
Additional measures for promotion of export of orthodox and packaged tea and Geographical Indicators (GI) branding of tea are likely to be announced in the Foreign Trade Policy, Sitharaman said.
Subsidy-based support under the 12th Plan will be redesigned to achieve the goal of enhancing production as well as exports, the Minister said.
