DIBRUGARH, Sept 29 - Almost all major and minor tea industries in the Brahmaputra Valley have agreed to pay 20% bonus to the plantation workers this year too by following the demand for acceptable bonus, informed Rupesh Goala, secretary of Assam Chah Mazdoor Sangha (ACMS).
While expressing gratitude to the tea industries for agreeing to disburse 20% bonus to the workers, ACMS has asked the workers to save a certain percentage of the money for education of their children.
The tea industries who have agreed to pay 20% bonus include Mcleod Russel (India) Limited, MK Shah Exports Limited, Amalgamated Plantations Pvt Limited (APPL) of Tata, Assam Company India Limited, Warren Tea Limited, Apeejay Tea Limited, Rossell Tea, James Warren Tea Limited, Dhunseri Tea and Industries, Andrew Yule, Jorehaut Group, Stuart Hall, Grob Tea, Goodricke, Joonktollie, Jalannagar, Amgoorie India, Karangani, Borsila, Silonibari, Nilmoni, Bihubor and several others.
